finished a purple scarf in my currently favourite queen anne’s lace pattern
the yarn is panda ‘fiesta’, and has silver threads as highlights
i’m now working on a green scarf in the same pattern
it is a unique hand dyed tasmanian alpaca that i found in the alpaca shoppe in deloraine
this is a finer and more delicate-looking scarf than the others i’ve made so far
it’s been interesting seeing how different the same pattern looks when made in different colours and yarns …
I have been thinking about doing the same thing just a couple of days ago. I am currently working on a pattern that I think would look stunning in a finer yarn. It looks good in the WW that I am using but if I use a finer glittery yarn, it would look even better. Playing with colors is a great option as well.
It’s all good fun, isn’t it! Changing the sizes of the hooks is interesting too … the pale blue scarf and the purple one were both done with a size 7.00 mm hook, while I did the variegated ones with a size 4.50 mm hook …. Hope you post photos of your experiments too! =D
I will. 🙂
